Stop, Turn Around

Image
Stop, Turn Around When we try to reach dreams, hopes, and desires that God places within our hearts, I have found that sometimes it feels like taking a journey on a long highway, or road leading to an unknown destination. As we travel along what I will call road trips, we know there is an ending point, but how to get there is sometimes a mystery, and unless we have clear directions or instructions from someone who has made the trip before us, we will most likely become lost. Road trips are necessary if we are going to fulfill God’s plan for our lives, but the direction that we set out to take might not necessarily be the route that God wants us to use. One important note is that God’s call on our lives does not necessarily mean he wants us all to be ministers of the gospel either. He does call us to into different professions. The key I have discovered through my own prayer life and listening to other powerful people of God is that the Holy Spirit will direct our careers for the go...

Perfection of Patience

Image
Perfection of Patience I want to re-share this post because it reminds me of how important patience is if we are to receive the very best from God. It is not of God to rush or the hurry up to get anything done because sometimes when we rush, we miss what God has for us. Below is an example of rushing and the consequences of not waiting for God to lead us in the right direction. A couple of months ago, an older couple which my husband had known for many years was taken from their home leaving behind a fish pond with several fishes still within with it. Neighbors, missing the couple and not wanting to see the fish die away, threw in dog food and other things they thought the fish would eat. Over the weeks, the fish began to disappear; probably from the attack of other predators because they were no longer under the protection of their owner. Finally, most of the water evaporated away, and only three of the smaller fish survived because they lived in the deep crevices of the pond tha...

Reflection on God’s Love

Image
Reflection on God’s Love In a couple of days, my husband and I will be heading over to Vancouver Island. Having purchased a piece of property on one of the gulf islands, we are happily making plans to build our dream home and our sanctuary of peace and comfort. A note added, it will not be a grand home; simple, uncomplicated, and tiny. We don't need a big mansion or an overly impractical home. Praise God for all the blessing he is bestowing upon us; we give him all the thanks. If you have been with me for a while and read my blog, you will realize that two years ago I started working towards the new thing I tell you this to praise God for His goodness, and hopefully, the testimony of a simple person can help you in your walk through this period loves Him, loves Jesus, and cherishes Today, I testify and scream out, GOD IS GOOD! And he loves me and you, regardless of what the world may say through its words of unbelief. So hang tight, Reflection on his word gives us hope and...

Compassion

I study people around me sometimes, and I don't understand their harshness. My job in particular, introduces me to the worst side of human nature in this maddening world we live in. I ask myself, is it God's fault? Nevertheless, when I meditate on his word, I find that we have free will; we can use it for good or bad. God in his awesomeness will never violate our will; he gave us freedom to choose. Is it his fault? I personally don't think so; his word promises me good and not bad, even when I don't understand it. If I follow his guidance, his word promises me abundance, health, and wisdom. My favorite scriptures says it all. John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." I only wish that we all could understand the pain of the other person, and show kindness instead of just considering our own selfish motives. My husband and I also make ama...
