The Game of LIfe

Game of Life Today I see the icy mounds of snow melting away, it looks like we might finally get an end to the snow that we are having in Vancouver. I am not a true Vancouverite, only living on the BC mainland and Seattle regions for fifteen years I have never experienced this amount of snow in the area before. Evidently, I am not alone in my experiences, it has been quite a shock to everyone; so much so our streets remained blocked for weeks after the heavy snowfall.   The lovely covering of white reminds me of the thick blanket of heavy snowflakes that fall in the Yukon and Alaska, creating a winter land of ice and cold.   I, personally, love the fresh snow and when it mantles the surrounding in its white layer, it gives the entire city an appearance of cleanness and purity. Although lovely, it does cause problems when it is unexpected by the masses, causing chaos across the city from automobile accidents, human isolations, to roofs caving in. This is life, howe...

Two Dresses

ZolablueBlog Two Dresses The mall was empty that day as the girl strolled through the hallway gazing at the merchandise behind the glass display windows of the shops. Beautiful dresses, and exotic shoes with six-inch heels so high she dared to think of walking in them because she found herself clumsy even in her four-inch pumps. Lovely tops made of lace, chenille, denim, and other materials she did not recognize, was accompanied by their matching bottoms drew her attention as she passed the store, enticing her to stop in and try them on or something else that caught her attention in the brightly lit store. She knew she only had a few dollars left from her paycheck, after she paid her rent, utilities, and daycare costs for her son, so she resisted the pull within her to enter the store. The cinnamon buns fresh out of the oven wafted throughout the mall drifting upward to the glass cathedral ceiling. Doves resting atop of gleaming silver beams running along the top of t...

The Passing of Time

The Passing of Time Hello friends, my days have been very tiring. Mostly mentally, because I am so busy with writing, blogging, and working, but happily, I must confess, that I see the blessings of God manifesting in all areas of my life. My hubby and I purchased a piece of property, my books are awesome, and although my focus is on writing, I have been offered an advancement in my job. All these things seemed to come quickly, which leads me to believe that I am heading into another chapter of my life. The Passing of Time. “Why do things change?” I asked the Holy Spirit during my spiritual meditation, and he reminded me of the seasons. Life is similar to the cycles of nature I believe, and just as the seasons change so does part of our life. Spring, summer, fall, and winter; just as our outside environment changes, so does our lives experience its seasons of change. However, God is with us carrying us through each season helping us to endure. He is there during the bright sunny days...
