Pardoned of Offenses

Image
Pardoned of Offenses I want to talk about a time when I disappointed myself. Or course God loved me then, and He still loves me. Of course, I wished to be perfect but realized I could never be. For those who feel that they are perfect Christians, and expect those who confess Jesus as their Lord to be perfect, please understand that it is not the case. It is only through the grace and guidance of the beautiful Holy Spirit that we can live quiet lives while we exist in our flesh. When we don’t allow His guidance, we can do horrible things to each other. So don’t blame God. James 3:8-9 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Although I am not perfect, God’s love is everlasting, and when I realize my mistakes, I can comfortably place myself back into his loving arms not allowing condemnation to overwhelm me. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now n...

The Tattered Dress

Image
The Purchase The eerie sound of her high heels tapping against the tile flooring causes a shiver to run through Megan’s body as she casually strolls down the brightly lit corridor of the shopping center. Missing the flurry of noise and commotion from the other shoppers, Megan wonders if the building has closed around her; however, since it is only two o’clock pm and the mall does not close until nine tonight, she knows it is open and ignores the unfamiliar feeling of inhospitality arising from the building’s emptiness. Megan continues perusing the brightly lit display windows. Lovely tops made of lace, chenille, and other materials she doesn’t recognize, draws her attention and the brightly lit merchandise entices her to stop in and try on the gorgeous garments.   Lou Vuitton has a sale on its handbags; Victoria secret a sale on its spicy undies; and one store displaying an anorexic model, wearing undersized shorts on her basketball size bum, publicizes a half-off sale...

The Unexpected

Image
Today it’s raining, which seems almost a downer because it is summer and so many of us love the dryness and warmth of the summer months. It is the time of the year when we purposely seek out waters, such as beaches, lakes, and streams allowing us to play in and cool ourselves off from the scorching hot days. No one wants rain in the summer because it keeps us trapped inside when there is so much outside to do. Although we love the heat of the summer days, those of us in BC face some horrific consequences from the intense heat. BC, having lots of forest areas, suffers from severe dryness, and once manicured lovely grassy areas and trees turn brown; drying out and dying because of the rapid evaporation of the moisture from the intense heat beaming down. Due to this, fires are terrorizing the area. Several burning areas have destroyed many homes, and those fortunate enough to not have had their homes burnt down are facing evacuations because of the threat of danger. This uncert...

Loved beyond measure

Image
Loved beyond measure John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Generally, during the Christmas season, this verse seems to play a dominant role in our lives as these simple words parade themselves across cards, billboards, and Christmas sermons. This is the time of the year that some of us humans celebrate the birth of Jesus and contemplate the gift of God in bringing all men, which believe on him, back into his loving arms. But I am of the belief that God’s love is continuous year round, and is not limited to a particular time of the year. A couple of days ago I watched a young mother standing around at the bus station, and in her arms, she lovingly cuddled a tiny baby. The small bundle of beauty announcing another generation will continue within her family was the light in the mother’s eyes I noticed. The sight truly brought joy to my heart as I stood observing her gent...

Stop, Turn Around

Image
Stop, Turn Around When we try to reach dreams, hopes, and desires that God places within our hearts, I have found that sometimes it feels like taking a journey on a long highway, or road leading to an unknown destination. As we travel along what I will call road trips, we know there is an ending point, but how to get there is sometimes a mystery, and unless we have clear directions or instructions from someone who has made the trip before us, we will most likely become lost. Road trips are necessary if we are going to fulfill God’s plan for our lives, but the direction that we set out to take might not necessarily be the route that God wants us to use. One important note is that God’s call on our lives does not necessarily mean he wants us all to be ministers of the gospel either. He does call us to into different professions. The key I have discovered through my own prayer life and listening to other powerful people of God is that the Holy Spirit will direct our careers for the go...

Perfection of Patience

Image
Perfection of Patience I want to re-share this post because it reminds me of how important patience is if we are to receive the very best from God. It is not of God to rush or the hurry up to get anything done because sometimes when we rush, we miss what God has for us. Below is an example of rushing and the consequences of not waiting for God to lead us in the right direction. A couple of months ago, an older couple which my husband had known for many years was taken from their home leaving behind a fish pond with several fishes still within with it. Neighbors, missing the couple and not wanting to see the fish die away, threw in dog food and other things they thought the fish would eat. Over the weeks, the fish began to disappear; probably from the attack of other predators because they were no longer under the protection of their owner. Finally, most of the water evaporated away, and only three of the smaller fish survived because they lived in the deep crevices of the pond tha...

Reflection on God’s Love

Image
Reflection on God’s Love In a couple of days, my husband and I will be heading over to Vancouver Island. Having purchased a piece of property on one of the gulf islands, we are happily making plans to build our dream home and our sanctuary of peace and comfort. A note added, it will not be a grand home; simple, uncomplicated, and tiny. We don't need a big mansion or an overly impractical home. Praise God for all the blessing he is bestowing upon us; we give him all the thanks. If you have been with me for a while and read my blog, you will realize that two years ago I started working towards the new thing I tell you this to praise God for His goodness, and hopefully, the testimony of a simple person can help you in your walk through this period loves Him, loves Jesus, and cherishes Today, I testify and scream out, GOD IS GOOD! And he loves me and you, regardless of what the world may say through its words of unbelief. So hang tight, Reflection on his word gives us hope and...
