Lost But Not Forgotten

Image
Lost But Not Forgotten Many years ago God put a desire into my heart to write encouraging stories which spoke of His loving-kindness so that others would want to experience His goodness. At first, I believed the dream was from Him because it glorified God and I could feel an agreement of my desires by the leading of the precious Holy Spirit. But I was too new in my walk with God to have absolute certainty that he was speaking to me. I guess now when I look back on it, since I have a popular blog, written two books, and have almost finished with writing book one of my fantasy series, I am sure it was Him. My story reminds me of the story of Joseph in the Bible; he had a dream. Genesis 37:5-8 “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, a

The Woman and the Blood

Image
The Woman and the Blood The holiday season is quickly approaching us. It is the time when most people spend time with family and other loved ones, and for this brief period of time, most people seem truly happy and caring. But for some, it is a time of loneliness and isolation giving them pain instead of joy since a lot of people do not have anyone.  Also, sad but true, even those with family members or perceived loved ones around every day still remark that they are lonely. There might be loads of people in your circle of life, nevertheless, like someone once said, “you can be lonely in a crowd.” However, I would like to remind you that those emotions are not real, they are just feelings meant to cause you despair or depression. The Holy Spirit, too, wanted me to remind you that if you have accepted the precious gift of Jesus, and call Him Lord, “You are never alone, He is with you.” It might seem as if no one cares for you, the world had as abandoned you, or `you are suffering

Jawbreakers and God's Love

Image
Jawbreakers and God's Love I would like to relate a story today about an incident that I witnessed a couple of days ago at my workplace. Sometimes we get kids in the office with their parents, and their behaviors are so cute or outrageous I remember them for long periods afterward. Resting on our counter, we always keep a collection of candies with various types of the sweet goodies. Jawbreakers, gummy bears, hard candies, chocolates, etc. are available and not being that concerned over the candy hogs we let our visitors take as many as they want. While waiting for her mother to process her insurance, a small child, possibly 3 or 4 years of age, spotted the candy dish. Delightfully I watched her eyes light up when she saw all of the delicious treats.   Long red curly hair was dangling down along her small delicate face; she looked almost angelic as she smiled at me. Freckles covering her chubby cheeks gave her baby face an, even more, innocence; her beautiful express

Garden of Life

Image
This year my garden was not as spectacular as it was in the prior years because we moved just before the summer and did not have time to prepare the ground. However, I am reminded of my gardens in prior years which were filled with lovely dahlias, beautiful clematis’s, spectacular salvia, gorgeous corn-flowers, vibrant lobelias, and hanging baskets jam-packed with dazzling colorful flowering plants. And of course, I cannot forget the many vegetables I grew; large plump tomatoes, tasty zucchini, cucumber, onion, chives, lettuce, potatoes, spicy red and jalapeno peppers which were just a few of the many types. I had such a choice of delicious vegetables to choose from, sometimes I found it difficult to decide as to what  I wanted to do with them or how to prepare the delicious veggie. Would I include it in a delightful garden salad, or perhaps barbeque skewers of tomatoes, zucchini or cucumber on the grille? With the flowers in my gardens, I always filled vases with them and made lo

When God Seems Distant

When God Seems Distant Did you know God loves you even when you are not perfect, lost, lonely, fearful, or sad? Although sometimes we do not feel like he cares, and His lovely Holy Spirit appears miles away, please understand that God is continually there. He is waiting for us to reach out to Him for help in times of need. One thing I have learned over the years, from my own experience, is that we must always trust that he knows our situation. He is there for protection when we are fearful, provides wisdom when we need guidance, and love and companionship when we are lonely. One of my favorite scriptures reminds me of His promises: Psalms 23:1-3 (KJV) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3  He restoreth my soul: I gain peace within myself through reading His words in the Bible. The words become alive as I read, offering me comfort and companionship as I immerse myself into its storie

Hurricane Harvey - God is There

My prayers go out to those who have suffered from the storm that has struck Texas, US area. For those who do have access to my blog and my avid readers, please remember that God is with us all during the good times and also the bad times. He sees our plights. In times of devastation He is not hiding behind the mask of an uncaring God, and responds to everyone suffering and in need of His help, who ask. He is holding the hands of those who love Him and are His own, including those now in pain in Texas. I have a personal message for those in Texas. God knows the pain that you are experiences and His gentle love and caring arms are reaching out to you to comfort you. All you have to do is receive it. He sees your plight, and the horrific period now facing you; He is not hiding behind the mask of an uncaring, vengeful God regardless of what others report against Him. Although it might not feel like it, and others report He is, He is not responsible for this awful weather. He loves you, wan
